Funding Cycle

Developmental Disability Advocates has an annual funding cycle to distribute Jefferson County property tax dollars to community partners who provide direct services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The cycle typically starts in January of each year with funding decisions made by the Board of Directors in May. Funded partners may begin receiving their approved funding in July of that year. DD Advocates operates on a July – June fiscal year.

There are typically no funding opportunities outside of this cycle. If any special funding opportunities do become available, they would be announced through social media and on our website.

Developmental Disability Advocates is part of the Eastern Regional Alliance (ERA) with 3 other county developmental disability boards:
Productive Living Board of St. Louis County
Developmental Disabilities Resource Board of St. Charles County
St. Louis Office for Developmental Disability Resources (City)

The four Boards follow the same annual funding cycle with aligned processes for funding application, funding requirements, service definitions & guidelines, outcome/output reporting, invoicing, and reimbursement procedures. The outline below provides a general overview of a typical annual funding cycle calendar. The ERA notifies agencies annually of specific dates.
